    E4100 QPD force measurement option

Many researchers hope to measure the light trapping force and by using a forward scatter interference pattern on the quadrant photodetector, together with dedicated software, an operator can monitor the position of the trapped particles to nanometer precision.

QPD force measurement can be added to any of our optical tweezers system through the E4100 accessory. Powerful software detects and measures a captured particle. Most customers choose to separate the detection light, such as a HeNe or 633nm fiber coupled laser.

Several different configurations of E4100 can cater to possible user needs. Elliot Scientific can provide a complete plug-and-play force measurement optical tweezers system, or this performance can be added to existing optical tweezers.

The measurement software with live video also allows users to calibrate the movement of single trap targets so that the applied force can be inferred. This makes optical tweezers increasingly attract the attention of scientists exploring single-molecule systems.

If the budget is limited, retrofitting a high-quality microscope is also an option

    E4500 photographic particle track options

Existing systems can only measure the force applied to the particles, but the CPT technology used in the E4500 pliers can collect data from multiple particles at a higher rate.

    ●Multi-trap stiffness measurement

●Convenient trap calibration through thermal analysis

    ●Enhanced trap stiffness measurement

    ●Multi-particle tracks in microfluidic channels

●Simultaneous viscosity measurement at several points
